Brandon and Amanda

October 26th, 2019

Background of how they met:

“Brandon and I met on Friday, October 27, 2017 at North Park in Richfield, Wisconsin as we were helping Brandon’s cousin and my college friend set up for their wedding the next day. With all of the rehearsal and set up activities going on, we weren’t able to exchange much more than a hello and a few sentences that night. Little did we know our lives would forever change from this moment on. The day of the wedding came and we were both pretty busy getting ready for all of the festivities that day, as we were both in the wedding party, so we didn’t get a chance to really get to know each other until the reception. Between flirting, dancing, and laughing we found something in each other we were both missing and we were instantly drawn to each other. Brandon would probably argue that it was his dance moves that really hooked me, which if you’re lucky enough he might pull these out at the wedding, but it was more about how easy we got along so quickly. He is such a genuinely nice, caring, and down to earth person, and I feel lucky every day to have met him. Unfortunately, we didn’t exchange numbers the night of the reception, which I instantly regretted because I knew that Brandon was going to be someone special to me. Apparently, Brandon thought the same thing as I found out a few weeks after the reception that Brandon told his family at the reception that I was going to be his girlfriend, but I just didn’t know it yet. Me, being the impatient person that I am, found him on Facebook later that afternoon, and messaged him that I had a great time with him the night before. We continued to exchange messages until Brandon finally made the first move when he asked, “when can I see you again?”. With Brandon and I living 200 miles apart at the time, seeing each other again was not so easy. We agreed that in a couple of weeks we would have our first official date in Minnesota. A whole weekend together, that was quite a risk! Nerves aside, Brandon showed up on my front step one Friday afternoon with little Yogi by his side and a bouquet of flowers. Such a sweet gesture that I will forever remember! We spent the whole weekend getting to know each other and letting our dogs get to know each other. It could not have been a more perfect first date! Since then, we continued our long-distance dating journey switching off weekends between Minnesota and Wisconsin. The more time we spent together, the harder it was to say goodbye to each other. As time went on, we started talking about what we each saw for the future and both knew that no matter where life took us, we wanted to do it together.” – Amanda

How he proposed:

“Fast forward to February, 2019. Brandon and I planned a much-needed vacation to Arizona, just the two of us. We were unable to celebrate Valentine’s Day together, so Brandon planned a special date for us on February 16, which happened to be the day before we were leaving for vacation. We went to Minnehaha Falls with the dogs to walk around. Brandon’s plan was to make the trek down to the actual falls, but unfortunately, we were unable to do that due to Minnesota’s brutal winters! Brandon, the quick-witted guy he is knew that I would go full on engineer nerd on him if he asked me a question about something in the water! When I got off my nerdy soapbox and turned around, Brandon was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Being in full blown engineering mode, I was so stunned that this was actually happening that the only words I could string together were “Are you serious?”. We celebrated with lunch out and then drinks and dinner with my family. It couldn’t have been a more perfect day and proposal. Not to mention the ring he picked out was PERFECT 😊” – Amanda

What they love about each other:

Amanda:  I love that Brandon is hard working, family-oriented, caring, a good listener, and thoughtful. He goes out of his way to help others, and is great at putting together little surprises for me which reminds me that he’s thinking about me. We have similar interests and enjoy being able to spend time together no matter what we are doing.

Brandon: I love that Amanda is unselfish, caring, intelligent, she keeps me on my toes and she’s a sexy beast.

What I love about them/fav part of their wedding day:

Brandon and Amanda’s wedding day was the LAST gorgeous fall day of October and the whole day was beautiful!! The weather was in the 60’s, with sunshine and blue skies. These two were surrounded by such amazing friends and family who also had the biggest hearts like Brandon and Amanda do. Their vendors were incredible and The Legends Golf Course was amazing at offering help to anyone and everyone they could, such as giving us personalized rides on golf carts around the course to find the most perfect sunset photo locations!

Amanda planned everything perfectly and was so prepared by sending me images of the getting ready spaces so I could visualize the light and get going right away when I arrived. I was able to capture so many more amazing photos because of this and for her moms help hanging these dresses on the window ledge, even when they slipped and fell 50 times!

Brandon and Amanda brought tears and laughter all day for everyone around them. It was such a beautiful day to be a part of. Thank you both for taking all my suggestions, recommendations, and tips to make your day go smooth so I could capture the best photos for you both! I wish you both an amazing life together with a marriage as beautiful as your love!
