Spring is in full swing right now and I am LOVING the flower trees! I wish I had more sessions booked to photograph with the trees before the flowers fall off, but Brandon and Amanda’s engagement session was planned perfectly during their peak blossom!
Brandon and Amanda’s engagement session was supposed to be rained on, but they both had such a great attitude about making it work and making the most out of the session. In the end, it didn’t rain and the sun even came out! Amanda began with makeup from Ashley Stecker Beauty and she did a phenomenal job bringing out the beautiful qualities of Amanda, without making her look unlike herself.
When planning locations for spring time, sometimes you don’t know which trees will have flowers on them until they are already in bloom. So it can be hard to plan the locations, with hopes of photographing with the flower trees. However, we were so blessed and happy to find a massive flower tree standing alone in a field at Murphy Hanrehan Park! It was such a great surprise!! Both Brandon and Amanda have their own dog that they have brought together and they did so good for a few pictures in the beginning. Brandon is in the National Guard for just over 11 years and wanted to honor his services by wearing his uniform.
On my way to the first location, I found some other randomly positioned flower trees and lilac bushes. I’m so thankful Brandon and Amanda trusted me to adventure out there in places where cars were passing and watching, but it didn’t even phase them. They just rocked it out and followed along in my creative direction! From there, Amanda wanted to go to the downtown Chaska Pavillion and we found even more flower trees with different colors! We ended the evening with food and margaritas at Teresa’s Mexican Restaurant to pick out their photos and get to know each other more.
I loved watching how loving and patient Brandon was throughout the session. He was positive and playful with Amanda. I was also very impressed with how organized Amanda was preparing for the session and preparing for their wedding! She showed so much kindness and love towards Brandon and the result was genuine joy, a fun experience, and beautiful photos. Thank you both for trusting me, having such a positive and flexible attitude, and for having fun with me in the process!
