Jake and Madison’s Fall Fishing and Wine Picnic Engagement Session at Staring Lake Park

Engagements

October 9, 2019

Jake and Madison’s engagement session was full of beautiful fall colors and fun date ideas! I always say the best way to do an engagement session is to make it a date by bringing props of thing you enjoy doing together! Jake and Madison enjoy fishing so they brought some fishing gear to incorporate into their session. They also brought a picnic basket and blanket with a wine bottle from the vineyard where they will be getting married! These props made the photos so much more fun, interactive, and playful! It was a blast capturing this session and having fun with them!

HOW THEY MET:

“We both attended Minnesota State University, Mankato. It was my freshman year and his sophomore year. We initially started talking online having the same college and location be a kick start to the conversation as I was in the process of making new friends and meeting people in my new home town for college. After getting to know each other we decided to meet up(which happened to be Valentine’s Day) and things took off from there.”

THEIR FAVORITE/FIRST DATE:

“When I think of our dates, Applebee’s is the main subject. Many days a week were spent eating out at Applebee’s since it was only one of the few nicer restaurants in Mankato. Our first date was even at Applebee’s. We met up for dinner which felt so comfortable and the conversation flowed so smoothly. Afterward, I dragged him with me to go meet some of my friends at the bowling alley. We all had a blast and I knew from that night, he was one I wanted to be seeing more. Starting March 11, 2015 and now 3.5 years and many dates later, I would say my most favorite days are when we just run our errands together and stay in at the end of the night to a good Netflix show. Of course, throwing in a couple spontaneous outings here and there to sporting events, a nice restaurant, the movies, or even the zoo.”

WHAT THEY LOVE ABOUT EACH OTHER:

“Our love for each other is quite mutual. We both have the same goals and aspirations and outlook on life. The way we clicked from the start really shows us how we were meant to be together. We love how easy it is to be with each other. It’s so effortless and having the common interests makes it so fun. We really understand each other like no one else does and we both love the fact that we make a great team and can work together to take on life.”
– Madison!

Enjoy these photos and I can’t wait for their wedding next year!
