Sparks Fly at Gorgeous Outdoor Minneapolis Wedding

This wedding was SO much fun and definitely one for the books. We started off the day with some amazing photos with the wedding party in front of the city skyline and then moved to a beautiful outdoor space for the ceremony. The weather was just perfect and the bright sunlight made for some great photos! The reception is where the real party started though, and let me tell you, Matthew and Stephanie’s families know how to party! Some of my favorite shots of the night are of everyone out on the dancefloor having the time of their life. Then we ended the night with a stunning sparkler exit that enhanced the sparks that were already clearly there between Matt and Stephanie. Overall, the day was absolutely perfect and it was such a joy to shoot!

I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to DJ Matty Matt with Generation Now Dj! He was one of the best DJs I have ever seen at a wedding and played the best songs all throughout the night. The dance floor was definitely the place to be and was so fun that I even stayed later just to keep dancing!

How they met:

Bride: “Matt and I met through work. About 8 months before I started working with Matt, I was exploring job options and I went to a privately owned animal nutrition company for an overview of their work and a tour of campus where Matt was one of my tour guides. Then 3 months later, we were at the same scientific conference where we briefly connected again but didn’t talk again until my first day in the office in June 2017. Our first date was at a St. Paul Saints game. We had so much fun enjoying the entertainment of the game and pretending to be the umpire. We still enjoy supporting Minnesota sports teams including eating shelled peanuts at Twins games, enjoying summer nights cheering on the Minnesota United, and watching Ohio State Football at local bars. We love the outdoors and doing anything from biking, running, walking, camping, hiking, and playing sports.”

How he proposed:

Bride: “We got engaged while on a cruise in February 2020. It was meant to be for Matt’s birthday celebration but he had other plans. We were on a beach in Turks and Caicos when he proposed! Matt likes photography and had his nice Canon camera set up on the tripod for us to take a photo. We do this a lot instead of taking selfies so I thought he was just programming the timer to walk into the photo with me, but he was really taking a video when he got down to propose! It was the most beautiful beach and beautiful moment! I was so blissfully unaware that he was planning to propose so it was such a sweet moment, and he got it all on video!”

What they love about each other:

Stephanie: “I love how Matt and I can make each other laugh and have fun with whatever we’re doing whether we’re out and about or just hanging out at home. Matt is always so thoughtful and is the most selfless person I’ve ever met. He’s always up for anything which has helped me become more outgoing.”

Matt: “Steph is smart, beautiful, fun to hang out with and very emotionally aware. Whether it’s being considerate of others or considering her own reaction to situations. She’s a blast at sports games, hanging with her family, out at the bars or chilling at home. I just love her as a best friend.”
