Bright and Airy August Wedding at Mystic Lake

Bryce and Alexia | August 21, 2021

Bryce and Alexia’s theme for their wedding was “Summer Romance” and let me tell you, they really hit the nail on the head. Their special day was so beautiful, bright, and full of love that radiates through every single photo. After having to push back their wedding a whole year because of COVID and doing long-distance for a year and a half, I’m so glad that they got to have the perfect day with friends and family that they had always dreamed of. My favorite part of the day was taking some GORGEOUS shots during golden hour with the bride and groom. The lighting was absolutely stunning and the perfect backdrop for some beautiful wedding portraits. We had 10 minutes left of golden light and they wanted to get the most of it. We captured 99 STUNNING photos in just TEN MINUTES! Okay, maybe I have one more favorite part of the day, but you’ll have to look through all the photos to see the epic ending to their gorgeous day!

How they met:

Bride: “His sister and I were college sorority sisters and college roommates at the University of Iowa. Bryce and I first met in 2011 on Spring Break down at their parents’ house in Arizona. There was a little bit of flirting, but his sister put the stop to that since she was the protective older sister and didn’t like him trying to date her friends. He went to the University of Minnesota (we have a nice college football rivalry) and we both grew up in Minnesota. He’s from the Woodbury area and I’m from the Lakeville area. Years passed and we would see each other here and there at get-togethers, but were doing our own thing. In 2017, his sister got married and paired us up at her wedding (so we’ve actually walked down the aisle together already) and recently were both single and ended up hitting it off that weekend. He was living in St. Paul and I was in Boston, so we started dating with the long-distance right off the bat. I think we took a total of 50+ flights over the past year and a half seeing each other. He officially moved to Boston in May, so good bye long-distance!”

How he proposed:

Bride: “He proposed on August 24th on a sailboat on the Vineyard. Fun Fact: Once we got off the boat, we started FaceTiming our families and both parents didn’t answer, so I think it was the 6th person we called ended up being the first to know!”

I hope you enjoy getting a sneak peek into this special couple’s special day!
